The sword was to be far more than a simple weapon; it had to be an answer to life’s questions.

Dave Gonzalez is an Advanced Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, currently working and living in Chicago. Originally from just outside Chicago's city limits, and raised in a sword-collecting family, he happened to be the one that really took to studying their use. He began fencing as a teenager, and first started studying stage combat in 2006. In 2008 Dave became a member of the Society of American Fight Directors, and was recognized as an Advanced Actor-Combatant in 2011. As an actor, Dave began with school plays in junior high, carrying on into high school, community college, and Illinois State University. While at ISU, Dave accumulated as much experience as he could in stage combat and physical theatre; studying Laban Effort Actions, Appel Mask Theatre, unarmed and smallsword. Outside his theatrical career, Dave can be found exercising, reading, listening to vinyls (because they sound better) and drinking copious amounts of coffee. Well, he does that all the time. As always, many thanks to Mom & Dad, Senors Dennhardt and Tovar.
